About the Producer
The black dirt brand of spirits is produced by the Warwick Winery and Distillery in Warwick, NY. The distillery was first started in 2001, one of the first craft distilleries on the east coast, making brandies and liqueurs. They underwent a large expansion in 2012 and now make bourbons, rye, gins and this apple brandy.

- Made from NYS Jonagold apples.
- Aged in new charred oak barrels
Nose
Like a very apple forward bourbon. Tart apples with oak char and lemon pledge. Very acidic. Barrel char is noticeable. Some black pepper spice. Aroma is restrained.
Palate
Spicy with black pepper and oaky. Some vanilla. Lemon pledge is gone. Apple is there but subdued. Medium bodied but full flavored.
Finish
Medium and spicy with black pepper.

Overall
A good apple brandy but very bourbon forward. It has it’s charms but it’s a notch below it’s main competitors, Lairds, Clear Creek and St. George.
