About the Producer
Beaver Pond is a small distillery from central Massachusetts that specializes in producing brandy especially unaged eau-de-vie and aged apple, grape and peach brandies. There aren’t many details on the distillery out there and it doesn’t look like they typically allow visitors. What I did find out is that they source the majority of their fruit from MA with some, like apricot and cherries, from upstate NY. The distillery was started and is operated by a guy named Jerry Friedman, a former immigration lawyer who started the distillery as a second career.
I’ve reviewed several of their products before and have been positive on them.

Nose
A strong butteriness or oiliness to it. Earthiness but nowhere near as much as some traditional Italian grappas. Traces of sweet, non-descript fruitiness and butter cream. Medium intensity and lightly sweet. Pleasant and with some complexity. Solid but not amazing.
Palate
Very similar to the nose with butter and oiliness, earthiness and white grapes. Palate adds a light crispt or tart sensation. Medium bodied, medium intensity and lightly sweet. Texture is oily. Same as the nose, solid but nothing really to sett it apart from other options.
Finish
Medium, sweet and earthy.

Overall
Again not much to say here. It’s a solid and balanced grappa but with nothing that really elevated it to the next level. Has just a little bit of everything I expect in a grappa, earthiness, oiliness and fruitiness but nothing that really jumps out at you. One of the weaker options from Beaver Pond but still a quality product.
