About the Producer
The IYI line of brandies was put out by the Bulgari Distillery near Boston. I say was because it looks like the distillery is no longer in operation but bottles can still be found in the region if you look hard enough. Unfortunately very few details exist online but I can confirm that they made Strawberry, banana and blueberry brandies as well as a grappa and some aged brandies.
Details
- 40% abv
- Unaged
- Fermented and distilled 100% from blueberries.
- Got for $20 per 375ml
- not stated but likely has a large amount of sugar added.
Nose
Very light with almost nothing there except white sugar syrupiness and a trace of crispness. Just no blueberry at all.
Palate
Just traces of blueberry, not much at all. Almost like sugar water. Very sweet like all the IYI brandies with a medium body and a syrupy texture. The texute and body bring this up a notch but there’s just no flavor.
Finish
Medium with an intense sugariness
Rating: 4
Overall
Not much to saw about this one. The body and texture are good but there is just nothing there. Skip this one and get the strawberry.
