About the Producer
Finger Lakes Distilling as a NY farm distillery located in the, surprise surprise, Finger Lakes region of New York. The distillery first started production in 2008 shortly and have been producing a whole range of spirits. Their major claim to fame are their McKenzie line of whiskeys that go into the barrel at a very low entry proof, 100 proof vs the standard 125.
In addition to the their whiskeys they have a whole line of brandies including a grappa, pear, apple and this grape brandy. I’ve previously enjoyed so of their products so I was excited to see how this turns out.

Nose
Butterscotch and coconut. Butter pecan ice cream. Raisins. Lemon lime soda. Fairly light in intensity but has decent depth and is just plain pleasant. Very good.
Palate
Similar to the nose with a lot flavors from the bourbon barrels with coconut, butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. Balanced out with dried fruits like raisins and figs. Traces of star anise and birch beer. Light to medium body and sweet. Tasty flavors with a surprising amount of depth but more delicate than full flavored.
Finish
Medium. Sweet with vanilla and anise.
Rating: 6
